Re: New battery for 350z

Replaced my last battery in April 2016, and have struggled through this last winter with the replacement. Thought it should have lasted longer than that, but it may have something to do with it having only 450CCA rating. Found out today that my battery connections fit only the small diameter posts, ...

Re: 100 Octane

Thanks Andy

I’ll probably stick with BP Ultimate 98 as a new BP service station has opened up 100 metres from work saving me driving a few km out of my way to BP Hoon Hay. Also have a BP fuel card so get a discount.

100 Octane

An NPD station opened just down the road from work and I see that they sell 100 octane.

Is there any benefit in upgrading from BP Ultimate I use at the moment?

Re: Greetings

Oh I see! There is a Hilsborough down here, albeit a suburb of Christchurch.

Took Sharyn’s Volvo which is a tad more comfortable for the passenger, and can fit a few more groceries in it!

Fuel guage read/sender issue getting worse after 12 months. Anyone know of a Z club or other mechanic in or near Christchurch who could do this job? Try PM'ing Netrover, see where he takes his in Shakytown. I have mine serviced at Cochram Nissan. Just noticed fuel gauge issues myself. Shows close t...

Reminded again this week how much quieter new tyres are.

Replaced all 4 tyres with Yokohama Advan Sport V103 as existing tyres were at the wear indicator. Tyre roar noticeably quieter at open road speeds.

May have to take it out on the open road again today just to be sure!

How inconsiderate of THF and Jaguar to interrupt your work day like that.

Just hope McLaren and Ferrari don't get any ideas! If they do let me know and I'll come by and sort them out.

Re: The infamous 350z 1st-2nd gear shift clunk

Mine only seems to have a problem when cold when the engine is revving a little higher than normal and the synchro doesn't do its thing. Once warmed up it isn't a problem. Hey Guys, hoping someone in NZ might have an idea how to sort this out. So after a bit of reading on other forums it seems commo...

CTEK for chargers, very clever, some of their smaller trickle chargers come with a wee loom for folks that trickle all the time, i.e. it stays with the car. I have a couple of them, they are excellent! I have one like this I use to trickle the race car http://cteknz.co.nz/tabid/319/CategoryID/293/P...

If you get a battery shop to fit the battery they should use a memory minder to retain computer/stereo settings etc. otherwise they're easy to replace yourself. In terms of battery capacity go as big as you can fit in the tray, over the ~500 cca mark. Buy something with at least 3 years warranty, t...

Where ever you end up getting your battery from, do a test fit before you pay for it, with the plastic cover and terminals insitu, as a lot of batteries aren't a good fit, and will site slightly proud, and the cover won't sit flat, not ideal. You need to take the cover, and usually both of the popp...
