Post by merlin » Sun Dec 30, 2018 6:28 pm

Hi Guys. There is a TV program on Duke tv tonight at 9 25 The program is called Car SOS and they are refurbishing a 1972 240z. Should be an interesting watch if you are a S30 fan

Surprised they fitted fuel injection, surely would have been just as easy to fit new carbs and probably cheaper too. Looks like they made a choice to go with the sponsors products.

I always wonder how good those engines are when they have been sitting outside for years then suddenly fire up and go with no smoking or oil leaks.

Watched this as well, thought some basic filters on the ITB's would have made sense.
I wish restoring cars was this simple, but good to see some air time for the Z car!

for those that missed it:

and it must have been a repeat...

The ITBs were very nice but I think they should have restored the carbs and installed them The car was fairly original so don't stray from that. If the guy was going to use as a track day car fair enough. It looked like a nice job from the camera angles but how nice can it be with a 3 week build time limit?
