Hi, I'm about to have a L28 rebuilt (mild cam, minor head work, 240 carbs, header - otherwise stock) and wondering what CR's people are running safely in N/A L28's that will run Okay on 95 Octane fuel. Factory is a low 8.3:1 and I'm thinking somewhere between 9:1 to 9.5:1 range is conservative?
Thanks, Brendon

Re: L28 Compression Ratios
Mine is around 9.25:1 but that is more conservative than most.
Most others I have talked to , with non-race cars, seem to be around the 10:1

Re: L28 Compression Ratios
I am running 10.5:1 in my L28. I have used 98 octane though so I can't vouch for 95

Hi.
we used to get away with 10.5 to one. 10.1 ahould be easy. Your mild cylinder head work will help with this. But the best defence / insurance is a good accurate ignition system. Knock sensors are also cheap. I utilise knock sensors.
