Hi Z Club Members
Well its very interesting times. COVID-19 will change the face of the earth. Right now, you are either sitting at home twiddling your thumbs with nothing to do, or you are an essential worker working your butt off.
Some will have lost jobs, or may still do so. Those with businesses, will be working hard at planning for when we come out of lock down.
I am in that situation. I was hoping to get some gardening done, and then do a bit of work on our Datsun project. So far, my days have been busy with COVID planning, forecasting etc etc.
If you still have a job and are sitting at home, on full pay, “Great” but like my employees, if you are still employed, its possible you are trying to live off the subsidy. Whatever your situation, life will be quite different when we come out of lock down.
On a sadder note: Murray Chapman who is one of the longest serving members of the club and having served on committee level as secretary for quite some years, lost his wife Sharon last Friday (3rd April). Sharon lost her battle with Parkinson’s. Our sincerest condolences to Murray and we wish him all the best going into the future. I will keep you posted as to memorial arrangements. This will be after lock down. I believe Sharon also spent some time on the club committee. A Givealittle page has been set up and donations going to Parkinson’s NZ.
As a committee we wish all our members all the best over the coming months.
It has been my intention to do another mailout and was well into planning another run. Not much point at the moment and once we are back to some sort of normal, I will get it sorted.
As far as the Committee report stands there is not much to report, having only met twice since Christmas. Our web page is still under construction. Our IT guru is on to this but as an essential worker he has done some big hours and is still very busy. We had mapped out some prospective reports for the start of this year. We are always looking for ideas and thoughts from our club members.
If you should be stuck at home and able to do some work on your project post it up on the Forum. Let’s keep using it so we don’t lose it. If you have any news pertaining to the Z cars, post it into the forum area. We do have a post that hasn’t been used for a while “Spotted” how many zeds have you spotted during lock down? I know that there is a 350Z at the factory next door to us. They must be doing essential work through lock down. If you see something, throw some pictures up. Let’s revive that post!
Many thanks
