Forgotten Highway Tour 2024: Apr 19-21

Hey there! Come cruise with us along Highway 43 for a weekend full of fun and adventure. Whether you want to make a whole weekend out of it or just join us for the day, you’re welcome to hop in and enjoy the ride.

This event is for everyone! Whether you’re flying solo, bringing along a friend, partner, or your kids, there’s something here for all.                 

Here’s the Plan

Weekenders:  On Friday, let’s meet up at The Park Hotel Ruapehu. Book yourself a cozy spot and swing by the bar to join us for a meal and some good times.

Day Trippers:  Saturday, April 20th, 10:00 am, let’s rendezvous at Taumarunui McDonald’s for a quick coffee pick-me-up. Then, we’ll head out to enjoying Highway 43, lunch at the iconic Whangamomona Pub along the Forgotten Highway. Afterward, we’ll make a stop at Stratford’s Taranaki Pioneer Village for coffee or a leisurely stroll around the village. Day travellers can head back from here.

Weekenders:  Saturday night, we’ll head to New Plymouth and bunk down at the Auto Lodge Motor Inn. Let’s grab dinner together at the restaurant and enjoy the evening.

Sunday, April 21st:  We’ll start the day with a hearty breakfast and then it’s time to bid farewell. Go at your own pace and head home whenever suits you best.

Here’s some extra info:   We’ve planned this event during the school holidays, so you can fit it into your schedule just right. Accommodations start from $169.00 for overnight stays if you book early. Remember, booking is up to you! Feel free to bring your daily driver along for the ride if you prefer. There is a small section of unpaved road but driven with care will pose no problem.
